Code of Conduct

AI Evening Classes Oxford is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for behaviour in all course sessions, online communities, and related events.
1. Our Commitment
We are dedicated to creating a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of:
- Age, race, ethnicity, national origin
- Gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation
- Disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size
- Religion, political affiliation
- Socioeconomic status, education level, job role
- Technical expertise or AI experience level
2. Expected Behaviour
All participants are expected to:
- Be respectful: Treat everyone with courtesy and respect, even when you disagree
- Be inclusive: Welcome diverse perspectives and experiences; avoid jargon that excludes others
- Be collaborative: Help others learn; share knowledge generously
- Be professional: Maintain appropriate boundaries and language
- Listen actively: Give others space to speak; avoid interrupting or dominating discussions
- Be constructive: Offer helpful feedback and critiques; focus on ideas, not people
- Respect privacy: Don't share others' personal information or work without permission
- Be present: Arrive on time, minimize distractions, engage fully
3. Unacceptable Behaviour
The following behaviours will not be tolerated:
3.1. Harassment & Discrimination
- Offensive comments related to protected characteristics (listed above)
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Unwelcome sexual attention, advances, or comments
- Discriminatory jokes, slurs, or imagery
3.2. Disruptive Behaviour
- Sustained interruption of sessions or discussions
- Aggressive or confrontational language
- Repeated lateness or absence without communication
- Use of devices in ways that distract others (loud videos, calls, etc.)
3.3. Academic Dishonesty
- Plagiarism or passing off others' work as your own
- Sharing course materials without permission (violates Terms & Conditions)
3.4. Other Unacceptable Conduct
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behaviours
- Recording sessions without explicit permission
- Using AI-generated outputs to demean or harm others
4. Online Community Guidelines
Our Discord and other online spaces are extensions of the classroom. The same Code of Conduct applies, plus:
- No spam or self-promotion: Share resources generously but avoid excessive self-promotion
- Stay on topic: Use appropriate channels for different discussions
- No trolling or flame wars: Disagree respectfully or disengage
- Respect moderators: Follow guidance from instructors and community moderators
5. Reporting & Enforcement
5.1. How to Report
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct:
- In person: Speak to the instructor immediately (if safe to do so)
- Email: info@aieveningclasses.oxford with "Code of Conduct" in the subject line
- Confidentiality: All reports will be handled with discretion and sensitivity
5.2. What Happens Next
We will:
- Acknowledge your report within 24 hours
- Investigate promptly and impartially
- Take appropriate action (see below)
- Follow up with you on the outcome
5.3. Consequences
Violations may result in:
- Warning: Verbal or written warning for minor or first-time incidents
- Temporary removal: Asked to leave a session or suspended from online community
- Permanent removal: Immediate removal from the course without refund for serious or repeated violations
- Ban: Prohibited from future courses and events
- Legal action: In cases of illegal behaviour, we may involve authorities
6. Instructor Responsibilities
Our instructors are expected to:
- Model the behaviour outlined in this Code
- Address violations promptly and fairly
- Create an environment where everyone feels safe to learn and participate
- Respect student privacy and confidentiality
- Provide constructive, respectful feedback
7. Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all AI Evening Classes Oxford spaces, including:
- In-person course sessions
- Online communities (Discord, email lists, etc.)
- Social events, meetups, and networking sessions
- One-on-one interactions related to the course
8. Acknowledgment
By enrolling in our courses, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
